What are the best colleges for dental school or pre-dentistry programs?

I'm a teenager and I'm almost certain I want to be a dentist or an orthodontist when I get a job. I'm leaning toward dentist, but you never know... Anyway, I was wondering what the best schools (I'm not talking Ivy League here, though! Just "regular".) for a bachelor degree in pre-dentistry (Or whatever I would take for a bachelor before dental school.) would be. Thank you!

Pre-dentistry is not a major. It is just a group of classes required for dental school. You can major in any field as long as you take those classes. Your state school is your best option, it should provide a good education and be affordable. This is important as dental school is very expensive

State schools provide a great education for pre-profesionals. They are also among your cheapest options. Smaller private schools provide excellent educations and due to small class sizes you are more likely to get to speak with your professor and ask questions directly. Some people think this will help them achieve higher grades and for some people it might. Professional schools recognize these schools are excellent and don't punish people for going to smaller schools--especially ones within a few hundred miles of the dental school since they will be very familiar with schools close in geography.
