When is the best time to apply to CUNY?

Cuny admission?

  • I recieved a letter from cuny saying "congratulatons on your admission to The City....we attempted to offer you admission into the program of your choice but could not do so at this time.....i am happy to offer you the opportunity to enroll in kingsborough community college." My options were Baruch. Brooklyn and Hunter. Does that mean that i got rejected by all three? i really want to go Baruch and i meet the requirements. I'm not sure whats going on. I didn't recieve a letter from Baruch...will they even notify me if they don't accept me? Is there a place where i can go to (to ask them why i didn't get accepted)? D: i'm so stressed out i don't know what to do. kcc is the last place i want to go to. GPA 92 SAT: 1500

  • Answer:

Yes, that means you were rejected by Baruch, Brooklyn and Hunter. You won't get another letter from Baruch. They are offering you a place at Kingsborough. This is a HUGE year for college apps. They probably are sending a lot of CUNY admits to the CC system this year. You could probably transfer after a year or two. Call the admissions office at Baruch and tell them it was your first choice. Do not ask why you were rejected, ask if there is any way you could be waitlisted. If they aren't helpful on the phone, ask if you could schedule a meeting with an admissions counselor. They can let you know if they can help and help you plan a CC program that will match with Baruch.
