What is my degree in?

What would a degree show that solid work experience don't show?

• There's more than just one question. If you're going to answer the questions, then you should tell what's your biographical information and the experience you have that leads you to the answer to these question. You're welcomed to add a little more thought than answering the question. I'm a slight open-minded in this subject. -Would a high GPA show that you're smart or would it show that you're one of the people who knows to obey and temporarily memorize? -Did you feel as if you gathered your knowledge from going into higher education or did you feel as you haven't learned too much from school? -Is degree is only given for those who have decent reasoning skills or have you seen any people with a good chance of failing life with a degree? -Is a degree is a sheet of paper saying that you passed school or does a degree tells you that you are capable of having work ethic, intellectual capacity, and many more of these qualities certain people gives. -What are the differences you observed in those who have a degree with no work experience and those who have work experience without a degree? -Do you feel as your degree can turn you down in job offers in recent times? -Have you even questioned the value of the degree? As for employers -Would you use whether the person go to school or not as your hiring process? -What's the area of working department you're at? -How many people have failed the test you give them and did they have a degree? (Of course, answer if you do give them a test before hiring them officially) -Is there anybody you met who have arrogant attitude and what are their credentials? -Do you feel as experience matters more than the degree alone? FYI: I'm a person who is severely hard of hearing coming from a Spanish background. So, I am aware that I might make some grammatical errors during the writing process.

If by school you mean university then yes. -What's the area of working department you're at? Senior programmer/analyst/team leader -How many people have failed the test you give them and did they have a degree? (Of course, answer if you do give them a test before hiring them officially) No one gets tests. No one fails anything. However about 10-20% of applicants are not up to scratch in interviews. -Is there anybody you met who have arrogant attitude and what are their credentials? Plenty of people I interview have arrogant attitudes - their credentials are irrelevant in having that attitude -Do you feel as experience matters more than the degree alone?
