How can I design a workout program for myself?

Is FIDM a good school for textile design - surface design? The program seems to be very directional.?

• I'm thinking about attending FIDM and I have not seen a textile design program as specialized as theirs. I already have a B.S. in apparel merchandising, design, and production management, but unfortunately am stuck with only sales opportunities. Working in a department store isn't really what I imagined after college graduation! I'm ready to get out of the retail realm into a more creative atmosphere. Does anyone know if this program at FIDM is worth it??

  Oh my goodness, I totally understand what you're feeling! Working in retail after so long can get tiresome, and it already sounds like you're ahead of the curve in terms of your degree! Well I can tell you from my experience and friends who went to school at FIDM, the school and the programs are awesome! The Textile Design program is great in terms of what you'll need to know to get a job once you graduate. If you want to know more about being able to get a job once you graduate from FIDM with this specific degree, I would talk to the advisors at the school. They are very knowledgeable about all of the programs and can answer any questions you may have--from the program to jobs. The school also has great connections with the fashion industry and the grads are known for landing killer jobs. To get you started in the right direction, the career center at FIDM is great on helping students find that internship that fits their skills and their major perfectly.
