What should she do to become a fragrant specialist?

What degree is required to become an talent agent or PR Specialist?

  • I am currently a sophomore english major and I have interest in either PR work or talent representation. I joined PRSSA and enjoy talking with PR specialist who speak at various events. Sadly, I live in the Midwest, thus speaking with talent agents about their jobs and possible internships is virtually impossible. I really want to be a talent agent, its the only job I would actually do for free. I want to work at a major agency and rep both superstars and virtual unknowns. I have an eye for talent and I love to work, upwards of 18 hours a day if necessary. How does one become a talent agent? Do you need a business degree? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

  • Answer:

Business degree isn't required but it certainly wouldn't hurt. English, Film, Rhetoric, Journalism are all good avenues to what you want to achieve. There are several online sites that list internships in talent agencies (both in New York and LA (google "entertainment internships").
