I am going to be a transfer student starting this fall. do transfer students room with other transfer students
-
also is it easy to fit in if you're a transfer student. i mean i have never had issues making friends, but then again I've never been in a situation quite like this. All the other kids have had a year head start on making friends and what not. but really what i want to know is will i have a transfer student roommate

Answer:
I was a transfer last semester (spring), I roomed with an RA and a senior (total bummer). You have a good chance of being bunked with an RA, which sucks if you enjoy partying down. You probably won't be with other transfers (unless you request it) because the common idea is current students can show a transfer around easier than transfers learning together.

Most colleges and universities ask for student input with regards to their choice in roommates. Many institutions will want to accomodate you as much as they can, especially since enrollment nationwide is down and competition amongst them is a bit more fierce. The Admissions office of your prospective university should be able to answer your question. If not, try that university's Residential Life office.

not necessarily. you may be stick with a freshman or someone older than you. roomsmates are always interesting to meet for the first time. good luck.

It depends on what school you're going to. When I transfered, there wasn't any room on campus for me.

You will probably get the spot of a kid who dropped out. THat means you will likely room with somone who has been there a while.

no they don't because they are just like any other student

Most of the time yes, but really it depends on what school you are going to and if there is someone there who wants to room with a transfer student. I think in that case though you can choose to or to not room with them. Good Luck Em

seems like people switch roommates every semester so you should just be thown into the potluck system and be paired with someone else who needs a roommate, not necessarily a transfer student but it is possible. you shouldnt have a problem making friends, you should easily meet people in your major and as long as you are outgoing and friendly you should be accepted very quickly

If you want a transfer student roommate, ask the office before you are assigned. They are usually pretty accomodating for special requests.
