Should I stick with what I am doing in university or switch?

Should I just switch from university to college?

  • Alright, so I'm in my first year of university at the University of Toronto and I am just taking humanities, without having a clue with what i want to do with my life. I've never been a studious type and i never had high marks. I think the only reason I ended up going to university was because everyone else around me was going so I didn't want to feel left out or less intelligent. The thing is...I feel very unhappy and unsatisfied sitting in my room studying and I have always felt this way even in high school and elementary school. Now that we are in our second month of school my classes are getting harder and there are heavier loads of work to do. I'm starting to get depressed and unmotivated. I was actually thinking of becoming an immigration officer/consultant during high school. I only need college for that, a diploma in fact and then i could go on and get certification in immigration consultancy and I would be done. Whereas university, it's so much more expensive, harder, no work experience and you're not even guaranteed a job. What do you think?

  • Answer:

If you aren't happy, and what you want to do requires a different education than the one you are pursuing, then change what you are doing and go to the college. In the end, you don't want to do something you will be miserable with.
