What is a good foreign university for American students?

What school is better for American students, University of Toronto or University of British Columbia?

• I am an American student and I am planning on either applying to University of Toronto or the University of British Columbia. I was wondering which was a better school both academically and socially. Does anyone know? Also, which is a better city Toronto or Vancouver?

  UBC hands down. And you won't freeze your butt off as bad at UBC. To give you an idea of coolness, consider that UBC has a nude beach. Yet UBC is academically still one of Canada's top schools. My daughter took her freshman year at the coolest school in Canada, Simon Fraser in a suburb of Vancouver. Myself I lived in Vancouver for 20 years and only left as I was offered a job in LA. Vancouver is one of the coolest places on earth. And yes, you can go sailing and skiing the same day there. Toronto is Buffalo but bigger and cleaner. Also in Vancouver, you are only about 40 km from the US border and there are so many US license plates around, no one will care you are an American.
