Is social science related to social care?

Should I get a second science major is just take prereq's for med school?

  • I used to work in health care and as my final semester of my undergraduate degree comes to a end, I realize I do want to be in the medical field, but I've gotten a liberal arts degree. I've declared a second major already that is science related and this will give me all the classes I need to pursue medical school. This is my ultimate goal! I'm not sure however if I should just take the prereq's or continue on with this second major. I have the time to do either, and it doesn't matter how long it takes me. I have a great gpa and have done very well in my math and science classes I've taken thus far. What do you think will be the best?

  • Answer:

If the final semester of your undergraduate degee is coming to an end, you must change it to a semester other than your final one or you will graduate and not be allowed to continue enrollment to take a double major or additional classes as a matriculated student. You will need to discuss with your academic advisor and/or the registrar's office how not to make this semester your last. There is no need to take a second major and doing so will not increase medical school admission chances. Most medical students did not major in a science. Just take the prerequisites.
