I need help deciding on a career that fits these discriptions. This question is VERY complex to answer.?

  • I need some help decidinig on a career could you please read this and help me.? I would like to study the human behavior and actions, but I dont want to become a phycologist. I wouldnt mind taking some classes in the phycology, but not to major in it or become one. Are there any other perfessions/careers that deal with this? And that make $90,000 or more. And please if there are can you give me some detail.

  • Answer:

Industrial Psychology. It's mostly about people in the workplace. You can get a big-cheese job in the HR department of a megacorp. I think University of South Florida has a combined Masters/PhD program in industrial psychology. One of my friends took it. She started her own software company and she designed software for use in psychiatric hospitals. She chose the route to start her own business but she told me about the field and it's used in HR management.

You could try looking into: Social Work Occupational Therapy Development Practice Criminology Social Science Anthropology Sociology Political Science Human Services All of these study areas touch either somewhat or very strongly on human behaviour. However, as most are humanities, the jobs are few if not non-existent and the pay isn't great. Occupational Therapists can be very well paid, though this type of program is usually much harder to get into.

The answer isn't complex. Marry a rich person or inherit a lot of money.

Perhaps you should consult a career advisor, they cost about $20/hr or you could visit one for free at a community center or employment office. They are helpful.

sounds like you should study Sociology, but they don't make that much unless they're hired by a big firm for Human Resources or something.

Try sociology. The pay isnt as much but it can be increased. I went on employer and this milatary position for a sociologist ranged from $91,000-$108,000.

A basis in psychology opens many doors. My suggestion, would be a lawyer. They make lots of dough, and the psych background will help you be in tune with your clients.

I think that in order to command that kind of salary, your employer is going to require better spelling skills. Sociology sounds like what you want, but it will not bring in that kind of salary.
