How do you become a pharmacy tech in SC?
-
I read that you must both work under a licensed pharmacist for 1500 hours AND complete the pharmacy tech course. Will businesses hire you after the pharmacy tech course completion or must you also take the exam before working under a licensed pharmacist to obtain your 1500 hours?

My understanding is that you also have to be PTCB certified. I assume that means you have to have that certification before you are employed. I am not from SC so I cannot speak from experience. I would suggest calling pharmacies and asking what is required. Or you could look at job openings to see if they mention certification as a must.
