Which UC schools should I apply to?

UC Davis didn't accept me, is it possible that other UC schools will?

  • Okay I applied to UC Davis and just got their rejection letter online. I also applied to UC Irvine, UCLA and UC Berkerly. UC Davis was my safety college, the one that I was for sure going to get in. I had a 1800ish for SATs, and a 3.6ish for my GPA. Didn't get in Davis even though their most accepted people are in the range I am in and also have a acceptance rate of 47%. However, I was reading online that some people applied to Davis and other uppity tight schools like Stanford and got into Stanford. So, if I look at it that way I think I might have a small possibility of getting into the other UC schools. Does anyone have stories as such that can make me not feel all neurotic until I get other letters regarding my doomed future? Thanks.

    I got my acceptance letter at UC Davis, my sat score is only 1600 and my weighted gpa is 3.8 I don't think you can get into UCLA OR Berkeley. They're acceptance rate is much lower.. Sorry.

I don't think there's a need to get all neurotic about it. I have a Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley, but I would never encourage any student to apply to the U.C. system as an undergraduate, or at least not for lower-division work. Just go somewhere else, like to a campus in the state university system.

I was reading this and couldnt help but think...Are you fu*king kidding me? You thought you'd "for sure" get in to UC davis with an 1800 and a 3.6? What world are you living in? Try a 2000 and a 4.0 and see if you get in with that. Lmao.

I was reading the stats on Davis. Did you know that 49000 kids applied? Last year Harvard only got 29000 applications. It is getting crazy trying to get into the UCs.
