I am pursuing a career in advertising, I got accepted to SJSU and SDSU, any advice?

I dont see how Journalism is that related to adveristing, but they must have their reasons. I personally don't think journalism is dying because dying to me means that its going away, but its not. I don't want to go off on a tangent, so I will end this here. If you want to stay closer to home, then SJSU is the way to go. Besides, I've heard that San Diego is kind of an more expensive place to live. SJSU also has a great business school, which could help you, should you choose to double major or get a minor in one of the business areas. Communication is another area to look into, since part of advertising heavily involves the concepts from communication. Graphic design is another one too and only SJSU has this.

SJSU is a higher ranked school according to the US News and World Reports rankings. It's closer to your home. The major is Advertising, rather than Journalism (which as another person has already pointed out, is perceived as a declining profession). That said, I have had three family members attend SDSU, so I can't recommend against it necessarily. But you might want to major in Communications or the like, rather than Journalism with an Advertising concentration, for the reasons cited above.
