Where can I buy my textbooks for cheap?

  • They are way to expensive. I have looked at several sites such as amazon, however I mostly find older versions of the text, while my school uses recent editions. Any suggestions as to where I can look to find them a bit cheaper?

    Try Half.com - its an affilliate of eBay - and you might try eBay as well. I agree, books are way to expensive - they usually change editions just so they can add some new pictures, unless its something like a law book. Prices are ridiculous!!!

Best is to buy it from you immediate seniors who dont need them any more. We did the same when we were in college.

My favorite source is half.com - you can usually get very recent editions of books, and the prices are far, far lower than those at any bookstore. Just make sure you order them early enough that they can be shipped to you before classes start.

It is not so much the buying as it is the selling. I bought my textbooks new from Amazon, kept them in pristine condition during the semester and then sold them, for very close to what I paid, on Amazon market place when I was done. One book I had cost about $75.00 new and I sold it "like new" for $58.00 at the end of the semester. I consider that a good deal. The key is keeping the book in pristine condition while using it. No marks, highlights, etc. Just plain worth it.
