Which is the best university in the UK for languages?

Universities in the UK where you can study 3 languages??

  • I would like to study 3 languages at a University in the UK but I am stuggling to find one! I would like to study Spanish, French (from A- level) and either Russian or Modern Greek from scratch. Do you know where I could do this?? Thank you!

    You will probably not be able to study all three equally. However, there will be places where you can do a joint or combined honours (these are different & you'll have to decide which you prefer) on 2 of the languages, and opt out of modules to do modules of the other language. For example, at Exeter Uni, you can take a degree in French and Spanish, and opt out of up to one module a year (I think, it may be 2) and take beginners Russian. If you find a degree on UCAS where you can take 2 languages, contact the uni and ask if you can take modules in another language, I think this will be the best way of going about it. Actually to pursue a degree in languages, you're required to have proper academic qualification (such A-Levels or International Baccalaurette or any approved language proficiency certificates). As in the university, the lessons will not start from scratch unless the university offer language foundation programme. How about you try to search for any Department of Languages/Modern Languages/Social Studies from any university and contact them, they will assist you. UK universities welcome foreign students.
