I want to become a part-time pharmacy tech in california?
-
I am a 19 year old college students looking to become a pharmacy one day. Although in the meantime what steps would I need to take to become a pharmacy tech? What would be the pay rate I would be starting out in Orange County, CA?

Answer:
Check will your local pharmacy. Many of the big chains, CVS Walgreens, Osco, do not require you to have anything other than a high school degree. (at least in Illinois) They hire you in as a "cashier" and they help you apply for yout tech liscence. Then they also pay for you to become "Certified Pharmacy Techs" which requires you to take a test. (It does not require school) Pay rate varies, they do start low. I made $11.99/hour after 4 years as a CphT.
