Applying to a Canadian college?

Question regarding transferring from community college to four year college and then applying to...?

  • Here is my situation so far. I'm a year in community college with all As and will spend another semester there at least where I'll most likely get more As. I am planning on transferring to a four year college where I will take two years doing all my pre requirement sciences for pharmacy and/or med school. Will my grades from community college have any impact when applying to the pharm/med schools, or am I pretty much just starting all over without a cushion for my overall GPA and only being able to rely on the grades from the college I transfer to?

  • Answer:

All pre-med and pre-pharmacy school coursework completed at the community college will be used to calculate your gpa (also grades from coursework completed at the university will also be used to to calculate gpa if the courses are grad school prerequisites. There are 2 gpa's: total gpa and science gpa.
