What do you get points for?

What happens if i dont get required grades for uni but i get the required points?

  • right i have finished my A levels n nw waiting for results..i have applied to a particular university for Human Resource Management, and the uni has made me a conditional offer asking for 240 ucas points n a grade B in psychology..now the confusion is wht if i get full 240 points from my 4 A-Level subjects bt i dnt get a B in psychology..would i still be able to get a place in tht uni??? please help !!!

    Call or email the admissions tutor and ask them. They are the only ones who have the information to answer your question. All universities deal with these things differently and it depends on how many applicants they have etc. As a general rule its always good to chat to the admissions tutor, so you're more than just a name on a list. They're only people too so don't build it up in your mind, just be yourself and be honest. There is always clearing if things go pear shaped, but hopefully they don't. Hope you get the grades you're after!

No. You have to fulfill both requirements, the 240 ucas point and a B in psychology to get accepted. If you get one of these, or neither then the conditional offer does not stand and you are not accepted into the university.

Hi Your offer is based on achieving the 240 points of which stipulates a B in Psychology, so technically if you don't get that you may not get onto the course. However, I think if you achieve 240 overall and aren't that many grades off a B they would probably let you in. I didn't meet my offer, I got a grade less in one subject and I was allowed in. Good luck for next week!
