ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING?

Could I get a bachelors degree in Environmental Science then aim for a Ph.D in Environmental Engineering?

• I'm a senior in high school and have lived in Corpus Christi, Tx all of my life. My college options are Baylor University and Texas A&M Kingsville. My parents are rooting for Kingsville because its cheaper and closer to home but I'm kind of thinking I want to go to Baylor.. I feel like I need to get away- but not to party or get away from my family- just to learn and experience life somewhere away from home. Baylor doesn't offer Environmental Engineering but it does offer Environmental Science, which is what I signed up for in the first place. I've kind of looked into it and Environmental Engineering seems to have a more positive career outlook, but I don't know if I'm really ready to go into engineering. I've been really dependent on my parents my whole life mainly because they're so overprotective of me... so I'm wondering if first going away to study Environmental Science and maybe double majoring or minoring in plain engineering then going to graduate school at kingsville for environmental engineering would be at all possible... I'm wondering if I can mix the two... HOPING, really... Would it be wise?? Thank you very much.

  First you need a Master's degree prior to obtaining a Ph.D. Second science and engineering are different and probably Environmental Science will not be acceptable./
