Have you ever petitioned for an Incomplete in college?

Has anybody ever left college and then returned to college later on?

• Has anyone ever left college and then returned to college later on? If so what it hard to get back into the swing of things? Do you go back to college that you had previous attended or go to a different college? When you go back to college do you pick up from where you left off or do you start over again?

  hi, i am 51 & just went back to school. i had a 2 yr. degree from 10 yrs. ago. i did not see the need for further education then. but recently a friend who has good job connections recommended me for this great job. but they could only hire folks with 4 yr degrees. bingo - i suddenly i see the need to continue my education. so i applied at a 4yr college 2 wks ago & gave them my transcript. i was accepted pretty quick because i had the aa degree already. they evaluated my transcript and out of 66 credit hrs. 56 of them transferred. i am happy with this & do not intend to protest anything. it is funny that i am going to school with some of my kids friends (my kids are 19 and 17 now). my oldest daughter may be a freshman there next year - ha ha! it may seem weird to some of those young folks but i don't care. i'm scared to fail but i'm also driven. i have my eye on the prize and with god's help i'll get there. i am lucky to be able to commute back and forth from home to school so i don't have to live on or near campus. bottom line is you don't have to start all over again, the 4 yr college should accept a lot of your credits, give them your transcript and it takes about a week or two for them to evaluate it. regarding age, i understand there is a 64 yr old lady living on campus - ha ha. i think it's cool. age is only a problem if you think it is. tell your friend to go for it.
