Can i get into an Ivy League college?

Can I still get into a really good college (e.g. Ivy league) if my high school does not usually attract them?

  • My school does not have many kids apply to ivy leagues and very few get in. I had a 3.82 freshman year but I am taking 2 AP classes this year and 5 each junior and senior year. I also play two sports for my school and involved in academic clubs. Do i have a chance?

You don't have a chance with that GPA

If you can get your gpa ABOVE 4.0 and get a great score on the SAT yes.

Ace the SAT and that will help your chances. I know some kids from some really poor families and went to less than desirable high schools and went to Ivy League colleges because they aced their classes, aced the SAT, and did lots of extracurricular activities. Good luck!

It really all depends on your final grades. + Extracurricular activites/groups and volunteering. But mainly it is the grades.

You can do anything you set your mind to. :)

everyone have chance but consider doing something that is not so typical high school student. Imagine how many valedictions who also is part of the school involvement. Maybe think larger then school, like coordinating a campaign against hunger with your local shelter and school....etc.. Think social changes or impact that you can contribute. If over the next 3 years at your school, you helped affect 500-1000 people, do you think you will stand out against the application pool who are all 4.0....?

I think that as long as you have really good grades, are active in school activities, have a high SAT score, and volunteer, you can get in anywhere! My high school was a country school, but i got accepted to a wonderful college!

Everyone has a chance if they work hard at it. It doesn't matter what school you go to. It matters what you make of the school. You have a great chance if you are getting good grades. Keep your head up and you will achieve anything you want to. Yes, I know that sounded sappy.

I think that Ivy leagues care mostly about 2 things, your grades and your money. As long as you personally have the grades, and of course the money, then there should be no problem.
