I need help in deciding my career.

I need help with deciding a career ?

• OK im a high school student that needs advice on deciding which career would be better. I would like to go into the business field and become a computer info systems manager and then financial manager. And my other choice was becoming a doctor and i know it takes about 11 years while the other career only takes about 6 graduating with a masters. Also would becoming a real estate agent be as satisfying as being a construction manager? Sorry this question is long but i need some advice from people who know what they are talking about. Thanks

  Here's the truth about the technology sector, without both education and certifications, your advancement will be extremely slow and painful. I received my undergraduate degree in computer information systems, then I got my masters in information technology and to be honest with you, everybody wants certifications and experience. So to put that into perspective, you will never really be guaranteed a job in technology unless you continue to evolve and continue to educate and certify yourself (which could be more than 11 years of study because technology changes OFTEN). On the other hand, being a doctor is both rewarding and relatively stable. When the economy suffers, doctors (especially those in specialties) do not suffer with it. In contrast, when the economy goes south, tech jobs go with it. Real estate also suffers with the economy and is based mostly on commissions. If you can take having a volatile income, then you can take a career in real estate (the income is not guaranteed). Construction also suffers when the economy suffers. Ultimately, you have to look at which career will be most rewarding for you. If you are stuck in a job that you hate, you are likely to end up going back to school to change careers anyway. I personally have considered going back to school to change careers because I just don't have it in me to keep getting all these different certifications.
