Do you think i could get into college with this resume?
-
i have high sat scores: 680 reading, 660 math. i have held a job for a long time (colleges love this). i have volunteered for a long time, i have played sports, and i will have a great essay. the only (but a big one) downfall to my resume is a gpa of about 2.0. Do you think i could still go to college?

Community college. Go there, work hard, get good grades, and then transfer to a better college. Your scores right now won't get you into any major universities.

I think you have a good chance at getting into college with SAT scores that high, because generally that's the first thing they look at. However, GPA is important too because it shows how you function in the classroom. Just know that you have a 50% chance at least of getting in on your SAT scores alone. Remember also that it depends which school you are applying too. Some or more lenient on GPA's and others on SAT scores. When I was i H.s. I had horrible SAT scores, as I was a bad test taker, I think they were like... 875-950 combined? My GPA was around 3.4. I had the opposite problem from you, lol. Long story short, at that time I got accepted to Adams State college in Colorado. I didn't attend that one for personal reasons, but the point is they weren't extremely caught up in the SAT scores. I'm sure you will find several colleges that will accept you and then you can take your pic from there! Good luck to you!

Yes, but depands on what kind of college and what you want to study. They won't accept you at Harvard. But they'll accept you in other colleges.

Most likely, and most big state schools don't really care, I had a friend who score a 920 or something on her SAT and still got into Purdue University. DO NOT GO TO A COMMUNITY COLLEGE! First you waste a lot of time taking classes you won't need and second you need to get away, it will be the most important time of your life.

anyone can always go to state or community school. Some state schools are selective but in NY at least if you apply to 4 state schools one of them has to take you.

depends on which college you are applying for. you probably won't be accepted in any major universities....if any. i think you should start out at a community college and build up your GPA, that way you won't have to let them know about your high school gpa, and c.c.s are WAY cheaper. especially for taking general classes which you'll have to do anyway.
