It all depends on what you want to teach. I plan on becomeing an Ag. teacher after i finish my last year of high school and can be one by the time i am 21 / 22. Other times you have to have extra schooling because your teaching a more spesific subject. If your still in school, talk to your teachers and ask them about what you need to do, what you need to take. Also, there are people in collage who will tell you what you need and what you don't.

4 years of college. You need to obtain a 4 year degree and take a test to beome certified. That is all. if you want more money, you can always go back and get a Masters or PHD. Sometimes your employer or the school district will pay you to go to school in the summer or after school to get an advanced degree or for you to become v\certified in another content area.

Unless you go for your master's degree or a PHD, you will need to attend an acredited 4 year college within the appropriate major for a teaching degree in Early Childhood Education.

It is 4 years in college if you are starting from scratch. If you already have a Bachelors in a content area than it is usually 2 years or 18 months to get a teaching license. You have to get usually a 3.0 GPA in your college classes and have to pass a state licensure test. the program at the college you choose will help you with everything.

4 years of undergrad (or however long it takes you to earn a bachelors degree) are required. Majoring in basically whatever you want and depending on the college, they may require you to minor in "Education". Like someone said earlier, you can get a master or PhD, of you get the PhD, you might as well be a college professor.

Six. Your first two years and take a mix of sciences and arts. ie Mathematics, biology and spanish, art 101. This will let you know what you should major in. a B.A. if you are good at arts or B.S. if you can handle the math. The next two years focus on what grades you want to teach. kiddies middle school [my favorite] or high school. You will need to keep your license current but the school in most cases pays for the classes.

Who's laughing now Barry!

You will get a higher salary if you have a Master's in Education/teaching certificate. You will also need to take the CBEST and CSET in the subject you plan to teach (there are multi-subject tests available).

High school teachers don't have an age requirement...I dont think they do. http://www.sugarsaltpepper.webs.com

The other day i heard the news said that because of the low number of teachers they are making it so you only need 2 years college.
