What is an acute pharmacist?

What type of education does it take to be a pharmacist?

  • To become a pharmacist, what do you need to do after high school? University or Jr College? Medical School or Just college? How many Schools do you have to go to? What kind of degree in each? How many estimated years for each? What do you need to major in? What kind of career ed class would be recommended for high school if you want to become a pharmacist? What kind of things will you need to know or learn to become a pharmacist? Please answer all my questions or at least most. I want to become a pharmacist really bad after high school and I'm almost out :)!

  • Answer:

Four years of college (bachelor's degree in a major such as biology or chemistry) plus four years of pharmacy school (Doctor of Pharmacy degree). There are also six-year pharmacy programs at some universities. The eight-year plan is much more typical.
