What are my chances of getting into Boston University?

  • Although im only a sophomore in highschool Im already pretty sure BU is my first choice school.It would be an honor to go there. I took the psat this year and got a 1420[when averaged into the sat scale] freshman and 1st semester sophomore year I receved a 3.7 gpa taking all honors but this semester I've maintained a 4.0 and am trying to keep it that way or get a higher gpa. Im going to volunteer for 200+ hours. Im currently takng dance class.Dance is something I've always been very passionate about from a young age.I couldnt take it earlier because of financial reasons in my family which is sadening because now I cant get into my highschools dance team. My highschool is a magnet school for health careers and whenI graduate I can be an EMT or a certified nursing asistant.I want to attend Boston University's college of arts and sciences...and since they dont seem to have a pre med major maybe I'll major in human physio. or something like that. and maybe minor in pyschology or dance.I hope to be a pediatrician when I grow up. Oh and next year Im going to take Physics honors. AP spanish AP pyschology AP eng lang. algebra II honors. Health science II and Dance II.But another problem is that I havent done any extra cirrculars! =[ I suck at sports,and really the only thing Im truly interested in is dancing.but I am planning to join my schools Salvation for a nation club and maybe young democrats. Any advice will help in more ways than one. If it helps Im really dedicated and committed to everything I do I may struggle but at the end of the day I always try my hardest to be the best I can be. Do I have a chance...I plan on apply early decision if that makes any difference. Thanks! I know this was pretty long.lol =]

    Is that SAT score from all three or from just 2? if it's just from cr and math, then I'd say you will definitely get in. That would mean you got about 710 on each section BU's really not that selective. Volunteering, Dance... those are ECs. But if it's for all 3 then wow you did poorly on that! prob won't get in.

Hi! I see you're GPA is pretty good and if you get above a 2000+ on ure SAT I am betting your dream college will accept you, no doubt. However, extra activities are needed. If you don't want to do this, why don't you shadow the career you wish to do. For example, if you want to do pharmacy Ask at ure local CVS and ask the pharmacist you want to major in this and you'll get hands on experience If your thinking of doing medical, i recommend going to http://forums.studentdoctor.net/
