I'm going to be a junior in high school after this summer, live in oregon, 3.5 GPA freshman year, 3.7 GPA sophomore year, all on a 4.0 scale, play on the basketball and baseball team and will through high school, 40 hours volunteer work and shooting for 150 by end of high school,2 years of leadership, 2 years as a class officer(secretary both times), need 24 credits to graduate and i will finish with 31, taking honors english, AP English, AP Biology, AP Calculus, also took a CP math class, 3 years of spanish, 4 years of math, science, and history, shooting for a 2000(or higher) on SAT and a 30 on ACT...If i keep this up, will i get accepted to University of California Berkeley? I have so much dedication to attend Berkeley and I know I have to get accepted!!

Answer:
Its hard to say because to get into Berkeley, you have to have really good grades and have a lot of extracurriculars. Most people who do get into Berkeley have a 4.0 gpa. You have a lot of extracurriculars, but your grades are okay. You really can't have any guarantees because the school can only take a certain percentage. This year, Berkeley took only around 20% of its applicants. It also depends on how well you did on your AP exams. A place like Berkeley really only accepts 4 or 5's. I can't say yes or no, but you may have pretty high chances. Just always have a backup plan...just in case.

Yes it's about academics, volunteering, and leadership, but what it comes down to is really the essay... make it interesting and you'll be alright. I would also suggest more hours of volunteer and maybe a solid position as a volunteer (like an exec) or for a job (manager). Show your diversity, skill, and most of all well-roundedness.

Well, the answer largely depends on the quality of applicants in the year you apply. Those numbers look good, but don't go putting all your hopes into one school. Look around, for some backups just in case. There are plenty of other great schools. But yes, I would assume they will accept you.
