I'll be applying to law school next fall. should I get letter of reference from an employers or two from profs
-
I've been in the work force for 15 years and been getting my undergrad on a part time basis. You need at least two letters of recommendation and typically that's fulfiilled through profressors, but I think that a professional letter of reference is more reflective of my abilities and may make me seem more "well rounded" and add to the diversity that law schools say that they look for. On the other hand, are they interested strictly in my academic abilities and if I don't fully address that issue, I'm afraid that it won't make me competetive.

Answer:
You will DEFINITELY want to send two from your professors. However, you should also add one from an employer. Law school admissions committees will be extremely suspicious if you only produce one letter regarding your academic abilities.

OF C0URSE you should get as many letter recommendations as you can, gather up cirtificates or any awards you've won....send the law school EVERYTHING u got...they'll be more considerate with your application and seen that you've acheived alot

Send all three. - Two from profs and one from your employer. Good luck with your application!
both, they would see how deticated you are. kind of like extra credit.

assume two as a min, not the total. I would do both. And the academic is very important to them.

I would say pick one from each.

Law schools are looking for people who have mastered the basics of the English language, i.e. sentence structure, grammar, spelling. Your best bet for acceptance to any law school would be to enroll in and successfully complete a remedial English class immediately.

The first piece of advice is to be yourself and if that means getting a reference letter from an employer and one from a professor, then do so please. Your situation is also different from the standard law school applicant. Show your unique situation in your application. Furthermore, if you are working for a lawyer, I would assume that he or she KNOWS how to write a recommendation letter! In the end, make sure to submit your application after going through it thoroughly, checking for any grammar mistakes and the like. The admissions committee at law school is very strict about grammar mistakes and syntax errors in essays as well as the entire application. Good luck.
