How to decide between a medical and dental degree?

I can't decide what to get my bachelor's degree in?

  • I am having real difficulties deciding what I want to get my bachelor's degree in. My problem is I'm not good at anything, really nothing. The things I'm good at I can't major in(making beaded jewelry, and reading). I have an associate of arts degree, but it's a general studies degree because I could never decide what I wanted to study in school. I always figured that I could major in something that I'm interested in, and no matter how much money I made I'd be happy because I was doing something I had some interest in. But the problem is I have very few interests. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Please don't suggest Art school, I don't have the grades for that, and I don't find it all that interesting, I just like making beaded jewelry. Are there any websites that can help me? This is really driving me nuts, and really making me depressed.

  • Answer:

I understand your issue and help students with this problem daily. The key here is you would like to end up doing something you enjoy, creating beaded jewelry. Well you are correct, you cannot major in that. However, you may look into studying business and go on to create your own line of jewelry. If you really like beaded jewelry as much as you stated, then it would be worth it for you to buckle down for a year or two and get the business degree. Then, you can spend the rest of your life creating and sharing your creations. I hope this helps. A means to an end.

Yea stay in school! find the near by colleges that you like and apply (if you can stay home while taking couses it will save you lots of money) Pick a few Majors your interested in and take general education courses that need to be done anyways. Remeber you can go to college can take many classes that have to be taken. This could give you two years to decide what you want to major in. Pluse give you the opprtunity and time to venture out and take other classes your interested in(while still moving forward) to help you find your major. Keep your grades up and worry about moving later, you can always transfer. Check out/keep in mind (cal poly san luis california) beautiful town and school near the beach for later!!

Go to mymajors.com and register and take the test. It goes take some time but trust me, if you are honest with yourself you will get pretty accurate results. What about english or political science? Good luck!
