What is the best Cinema school in Paris?

Is the Ecole Des Mines De Paris a prestigious school?

• My friend is going to Paris to study at the Ecole Des Mines de Paris aka Paris Tech for his masters. Is this a good school? Is it considered pretty good in the EU? Would he have a good chance at finding a job if he brought that degree back the States?

  Yeah, it's one of the top engineering/management schools in France (together with the Ecole Polytechnique) and has been repeatedly rated 1st, according to various criteria (academic excellence, adaptation to the "real" business world, graduates salary). 2 Nobel Prizes winners attended this school. They have quite a few degrees, but the most famous one is the Master Degree in Science and Executive Engineering ("Ingénieur Civil"), for which recruitment is very selective (only one in a hundred candidates gets admitted). People who graduate there have no trouble getting a job, even during such a downturn. Companies are on campus all the time. Due to its size, it's probably a bit less famous abroad than it is in France, but they're part of ParisTech, which will be more and more famous overseas. Small size classes are a real plus to get to know people as well as to study (as they are quite heavily into research, they have more professors than students there!)
