What are my chances on getting into UC IRVINE?

Chances for UC admission?

  • I'm a high school junior 1st sem soph gpa = 4.2 weighted (3.7 unweighted) 2nd sem soph gpa = 4.4 weighted (3.8 unweighted) 1st sem junior gpa = 3.8 weighted (3.3 unweighted) usually get all A's/A-'s but screwed up last sem with a C+ in honors chem and a B in regular English. However i did get A- in hon. alg 2, and an A in hon Spanish. that's how i got weighted 3.8 taking SAT Reasoning in March, but from my PSAT and my practice SAT (from my sat prep class) right now i'm at about a 1700 (hoping to raise that to about 1900 after prep course is done) might do golf team this spring, and i've done +/- 100 community serv hours. and i write for school newspaper and and really involved in leadership youth team at my parish church. what r my chances of getting into UC (particularly Cal and Irvine) i live in bay area and 1st choice is Cal so i can save a lot of money on room and board. but irvine would be nice too. planning on taking nursing. just worried coz of C+ in hon chem!

  • Answer:

for UC , in sophomore year you can only weigh 2 classes or 4 semesters.. cant have 4.4. in junior year you can weigh 8 semesters. dont sweat it, that one grade probably isnt going to ruin you forever, just bring ur gpa down. just study hard now, improve and youll make it. good luck to you

Don't sweat it! 80% of your peers would like an academic record like yours. You'll get in, believe me. I attended two private California universities and I did not have a 3.8 average
