I am a college student looking for change.

I TRULY need your HELP! PLEASE! PLease!! Answer me.I am a transfer student, How to fit in in college? ? ?

• I am an international student. Last year I transferred to a new college and the campus is very big. I commute to school, I live in an apartment with my siblings. It has been a year that i attend that university but have not build any friendships. I have some acquaintances on the campus but nothing more. I am always by myself ( at the restaurant, library...).Do you guys know what I could do to change my situation? IT IS VERY DIFFICULT! I am very fashion, always well dressed and good looking. I was thinking about joining some clubs on campus, but I think people have already noticed me as being alone. Yesterday, I was walking by a group of girls and I saw them looking at me, speaking and laughing. It is not the first time it happened.I think some people have noticed me. I do not have a low self esteem though, but I am having a really hard time fitting in. I am scared to spend all my remaining years in college alone.

  Hey! I'm sorry to hear you about the way you're feeling...nobody likes to feel alone. But, the good news is, it does get better! I think joining some clubs you are interested in is a good idea. That way you are also interacting with individuals who have similar interests as you. The other thing is, you will start to notice maybe some individuals who seem to be in two or more classes of yours...if not, introduce yourself to the person beside you and just try to have a light conversation. You'll find that it will get easier and easier to talk to these people when you happen to bump into them on campus. Do you have an international centre on campus that you know of? Because if you do, there are individuals who may be feeling the same way and the institution you go to would be really great with helping you adjust and meet new people and network...just an idea! Don't worry things will get better...and as for those girls who may have been laughing at you, don't waste any energy on them. You sound like someone who knows who she is! Good luck and take care!
