Which school should i go to: harvard, yale, cornell, columbia, u penn, or mit?
-
im actually really really sad that i got rejected from princeton because my dad and sisters went there and everyone from my family expected me to get in but i ended up not getting accepted. i cried for days about that. however i've gotten over it and i still have a big decision to make. should i go to harvard, yale, cornell, columbia, u penn (wharton), or mit? (i also got accepted into duke, cooper union, stanford, cal tech, and georgetown but i already ruled those schools out because they aren't good enough for me or are too far) i think im leaning towards columbia because nyc has the hottest girls and the nightlife and all but harvard is where i can go to show off my intelligence. oh and i feel bad for everyone who didn't get in because i took their spot but still can you help me???

Answer:
It really depends on the location, weather and diversity.

okay, you may be very intelligent, but these few lines are evidence of an attitude problem that is going to hold you back in life: "i already ruled those schools out because they aren't good enough for me..." "harvard is where i can go to show off my intelligence..." "i feel bad for everyone who didn't get in because i took their spot..." these are signs of narcissism and conceit. VERY unattractive, to women, friends, and future employers. you are setting yourself up for a lifetime of disappointment if you walk around with this sort of view of the world. you haven't even gotten to college yet - you have no idea how you'll do when you get there. so don't be too sure you're so amazing. you may surprise yourself. try to be more humble. it really is a virtue, and people will respect you more for it. how you speak says more about you than what you know.

Oh my god. Shut up. You sounded like an arrogant prick when you listed (bragged about) all the colleges you got into. But then to say colleges like Duke, Stanford, and Georgetown aren't good enough for you just did it in for me. I get really sick of people coming on here listing off all the top schools they got into and asking which they should go to just so they can brag about it under the guise that they want advice. But i never say anything. But the fact that you're so pretentious that you'd say that schools like Stanford and Duke aren't good enough for you just goes to prove that you don't care about getting advice at all you just want to show off. Well guess what. No one really cares. No one is impressed by a show-off on the internet, and no one is impressed by a show-off in real life. Getting accepted at Harvard doesn't make you any smarter than anyone else. It just makes you someone who got accepted to Harvard. So congrats, you got into Harvard. It isn't about where you get accepted or where you go. It's about what you do with those opportunities once your there. And judging by your cocky attitude and penchant for name-dropping, you won't do much of anything. You'll get there and realize everyone else is just as smart as you and you'll think just having a degree is enough. Well when it comes to hiring, the employer's going to hire the person with the degree from University of Middle Of Nowhere over a degree from Harvard if he has experience and the determination and passion to do his job, not the passion to name drop.

I think someone is in 'imaginary land' to try to show off.

first of all, you aren't "too good" for those schools. how difficult a college is to get into isn't a measure of the quality of the education you recieve when you go there. you need to visit each place and see which one is right for you, ignoring how prestigious each one is and paying attention only to which one is a good fit for YOU. wasn't the universal deadline may 1st though??????

You want to go somewhere to show off your intelligence? Don't come to MIT.

Wow, anyone of those schools would be a great choice. Seems unreal to me you have been accepted to Duke and Georgetown yet you have decided not to attend either or.

Since you are applying to Wharton you are obviously interested in Business. Wharton followed by MIT are considered the 2 best undergrad business programs. However I also rather like the program at Cal-tech. Thanks Bill
