What is considered to be a good GPA in college?

Forget about "in college"; let's talk about "in life." George W. Bush's GPA in college was 2.35. We have to assume that's padded because he's a Bush, so realistically it was probably closer to 1.35. In life, as long as you get a 1.35, you're golden for the most powerful job on the planet; otherwise, do what you can to make sure you're born into a wealthy and powerful family.

3.0 and above is required to apply to graduate, law, or medical schools from college. Realistically, you usually can't expect to get into any of the above without a 3.5. Honors are usually awarded around 3.7 and above.

3.3 and up.

At least a 3.0 (B) out of a 4.0 scale

a 3.0 or 2.9 it depends on which college you go to...

3.0 2.0 is usually considered a good standing (if you have less than this, you will probably be placed on academic probation and won't be able to transfer or do anything).

3.0 and up is usually honors. At my school, you can't be below 2.0 or you're on probation.

It depends on what you are doing after you graduate. Further studies in a good program? Better have 3.3 or better. Just looking for a job? Don't mention your GPA on your resume if it's under a 3.0. Often, your major GPA will be more important than your cumulative.
