Middlesex or Westminster university?

I have a question for anyone who lives in London, especially university students?

  • Okay so I'm an American hoping to go to school in the UK, particularly London if possible. Can anyone give me the low-down on Middlesex University, University of Westminster, Queen Mary, King's College, and/or UCL? I'm going to study foreign languages, but general information is good too.

  • Answer:

Are you going to do a one year MA or a full degree ? I studied an MA at UCL. The teaching is good at UCL and it has a good reputation. UCL and Kings are both very good universities -however- be warned: the students often come across very 'stuck up', either because they're very smart of they're from very rich backgrounds. Maybe this is your crowd? I say this because I did my first degree at Manchester, where everyone was so much more friendly. Kings is similar to UCL but UCL has a much nicer campus and a better location in the West End. Queen Mary is somewhere in the east end of London which is a working class area and it has a friendlier reputation. Westminster and Middlesex aren't such great places because they used to be polytechnics.

why london? the cost of living there is so high, and the education is just as good elsewhere. plus the traffic's murder and its full of foreign people... come to scotland :) or try manchester or birmingham, they're big cities in england with good universities
