I need to write a really good admissions essay for college...?

First of all, you has to gave them a realy good reason why they should select you over other? remember they are they one who choose to pick you or not, they don't has to do it. Many failed essay to get accept because they too proud of themself like listed of all stuff they done that make them good look, a more humble and touching essay will increase you chance. Ex; i came from this country, seeking for american dream, my parent work very had and no education etc.. all this are good reaon. But don't lie about it cause if they find you lie they can kick out you of the school.

you just have to differ yourself from everyone else. if you read your essay and it doesnt sound interesting to you, then it probably wont sound interesting to them. let your friends and family read the fial one and listen to their input, maybe even post it on here and get some opinions

dont brag!! they will just think you are either arrogant or making up things to make yourself look good. making jokes isnt really professional, although you can add a little personality- that will make you stand out. you should list the reasons why you chose that school to apply to, what your goals are, and subtly explain what youve accomplished to get you to that decision. your essay wont matter if you dont have a stellar gpa, excellent sat scores and lots of meaningful extracurriculars, so make sure you are an excellent candidate otherwise. if you are, THEN your essay will matter a great deal. it will help the admissions decided between you and another equally great candidate- seemingly perfect students are rejected every year from great schools for no reason at all, or because their essays were weak. make sure you have two or three non-partial people proofread it and tell you what they think before you send it in

Try to be original. Colleges love originality. Use impressive vocabulary, but not too many big words to make it sound stuffy and stilted. Let your own personal voice shine through. Talk about your accomplishments (but don't wax poetic and brag on and on), your personality, just basically show them who you are and why you'd be an asset for their school.

Here's what I did: I wrote down a list of my strong points, talked about my strengths and weaknesses with an honest approach, and concluded by stating what I wanted, and I am willing to continue doing. The key is to not brag, and to be honest. You are not perfect, but as long as you acknowledge your mistakes and do your part, that is all you can do. Hope this helps.

An essay is 5 paragraphs long. it consists of , the thesis statement, 3 main points each a paragraph long and the conclusion. Thesis statement and conclusion are each a paragraph long. They are looking for the reasons you want to go to this college , thats what an admissions essay is. Good luck.

Tell about a time you overcame a hard situation. Something that pulls at the heartstrings. If you have a sense of humor, sure, put that into your essay. I would do no more than 2 pages double spaced if they don't specify. Just let your personality come through and DO NOT spell anything wrong!!

Google it, there are so many websites that tell you how to do it! Pretty much just right what you've done in your life, thats made you succesful in life.

Just list your achievements and goals. Find out who the Dean or President of the college is, and really kiss up to that person.
