Are my grades good enough to get into Medical School?

To get into Medical school- do high school grades really count? Or is it more of college grades?

  • For example- to become a general surgeon.

  • Answer:

High school grades will have no relevance for med school admission. They will impact your college admission, of course. Your college grades will need to be at least a 3.5 GPA, you'll need a high MCAT score, and great letters of recommendation, and, ideally, some type of work experience [e.g. in a prof's lab]. You'll want to get an "A" in O-chem, by the way.
