When is the best time to study abroad in college?

How to manage your study time in college?

  • how can i study engineering subjects in effective way? how much can i study per day? too keep stress off

  • Answer:

Find the time of day when you work best and schedule your classes around that, to the best of your ability. If you work better in the late afternoon and can schedule the bulk of your classes for the afternoon, you'll learn much better. When you're studying, pick the biggest, hardest assignments with the most time to complete and work on those first. When you start to get a little mentally tired, take a short break that won't distract you and then get back to work. A few hours a day of studying should be plenty. I would recommend 2-4 during the week, taking Saturday off as your day to party, and then on Sunday, let the hangover wear off, touch up some work if you can and get to bed at a reasonable time.

read to understand. Not just to memorize. This means occasionally looking up terms or subjects on the net to satisfy your curiosity and then returning to assigned work.

Everyone has their own style. I read non-stop for the first few weeks of the semester and finish all the reading for my classes. That way I don't have anything to do (except papers and drink) for the rest of the semester. When finals role around, I spend about one full day per class reviewing notes/books.

it really depends on your professor. Ideally, you would read the assigned readings on each day before your class so you can intelligently participate in class dicussions and prevent getting confused on what the professor is saying. However, as a college student myself, I find that it's usually sufficient to go to class, take enough notes to understand what's going on in lecture that day. When midterms/papers/finals come around, combine all those notes and read the textbook as a guideline if there are items in your notes that doen't make sense. Try not to procrastinate too much because it will really catch up with you when you're frantically trying to finish that 15 page paper at 6AM for that paper due at 8AM - it'll just lead to more unnecessary stress.

It all depends on you. A couple of hours would have been great for me. Actually any studying at all would have been great. To think about it more, attending class would have been good as well.

In High school, you spent 7 hrs a day, 5 days a week at school. Then you might spend 1-3 hrs at home doing work. Let us assume the least, 1 hr a day at home. That gives us 40 hrs a week of work, which is like a regular person going to work, earning money. College has a lot less class time, I can count up to 18 hrs of class time only but that means I should be spenidng 22 hrs in my room doing work. In reality, not many of my friends do up to 20 hrs of work in their room but if you are not getting the grades you want and you are also not adding up to 40 hrs per week, then you are not spending enough time. DOnt think just because you are done with classes, the work stops there. In reality, how much should you study per day? at the very least, study the material that was presented the previous class before the next class. That is the best way to know you are on top of things. Keeping stress off - well, to be on top of things is keeping off stress that is being accumlated before tests.
