What are my chances of getting into University of Washington-Seattle and University of Oregon-Eugene?

Chances of getting into an ivy league university?

  • I live in Canada and I'm wondering if the chances of getting into an ivy league university is possible for me if I land in the top 4 (IB) in my high school. There are 100 students in my high school, and last year the 2nd place student went to an ivy league university. If my scores on the SAT are above 2200, and I don't take the ACT, what are my chances?

  • Answer:

To be qualified to get into an Ivy League school you will need a 3.8+ unweighted GPA, lots of AP and Honors classes, a very high rank in class and 2200+ SAT scores. It looks like you are probably qualified. That is the good news. The bad news is that Ivy League schools reject between six and ten qualified applicants for every one they accept. I put your chances at somewhere between 10-18%. You need to stand our. One way to do that is through the admissions essays. They will be critical.
