What is important to know when you study architecture?

For people who are studying/have studied architecture?

  • I would love to study architecture. I'm very interested in it, as well as in maths and physic. I am the only girl in my class to do technical graphics instead of home economics, and I love it. I do well in it, too. Last year someone said that I'd make a good architect and I researched it a little more and I have to say...I love the idea of it. I know the hours will be long and the pay will be low for many years after uni, and when I'm studying it, it will be long and tough, but as long as I like what I do, it will be worth it. I was just wondering what your experience of studying architecture was. What sort of things do you learn? Do you have to have a certain amount of knowledge in the area before you undertake the course? How much work did you have to do? What hours did you work? Do you get close to the people on your course because of working together so much? Did you like it? Did you find it hard? Did you find work easily after the course? What work was it? and so on and so on... I was just curious and wanted a better idea of what it would be like. Also, just out of interest, how many girls were on the course?

  • Answer:

Frankly, you're asking too many vague questions that show you haven't done enough research.
