Is Lawyer the career for me?

I want to be a lawyer, but I love kids, should I be a lawyer, or pursue a career dealing with kids?

  • PLEASE READ THE DETAILS. Im looking for serious answers please. Im a teenager and I really want to know the right career for me. I want to be a lawyer because I have good reasoning skills and I true to help people solve their problems. I also love kids dearly because,I just do. Tell me what should I do. Thanks

    I believe that if you truly feel that you should become a lawyer and you love kids then maybe you should look at becoming a lawyer that defends our youths today because I know it's something that I'm looking into my self. Good luck with your decide!

Why not do both? The juvenile justice system hires lawyers to deal with kids in trouble with the law. Here in Florida, the Department of Children and Families hires lawyers to deal with legal cases involving children: custody matters or whether children are in danger and should be removed from their home. It's very important work and can literally be a matter of life or death for the kids.

If you become a lawyer, you could specialize in adoption law, work for a Child Support Enforcement Agency, specialize in juvenile law, only defending children or teens. There are a number of directions you can take with a law degree. In a totally different direction, if you are interested in Psychology as well, you could become a Child Psychologist, Psychiatrist or a School Counselor.

you can always be a lawyer and have children at the same time. your love for kids does not have to dictate your career.

Lawyer...it pays more! But since you're a teenager, I'm sure you'll change your mind a hundred times before then.

As my college professor told me you must find your passion in life and then you will be more committed to it.I suggest that if you love kids and this is your passion , fire in the belly and gives you that drive then pursue a career dealing with kids.
