What are some good colleges in southern California?

  • i was wondering what colleges to apply for in Southern California if you have a gpa of around 3.7 and are in the top half of your class and in some honors classes?

    Great question! I'm having the same issues. UCLA is very, very good--- the best public school around! (but the criteria is high), not expensive for Californians, I've heard that the classes are filled with people UCSC-- good, private, expensive UC Santa Barbara-- pretty good, public UC Davis-- okay UC Irvine- okay the 3.7 is pretty good, any AP classes-- those'll boost ya! Take into account your SAT scores, voluteer work, essays, etc. too. Good luck (and wish me some too)!

The University of Southern California(USC) and the University of California, Berkeley, would be your best bets.

Look into the University of Redlands. It's private, very liberal, and far enough outside LA that the cost of living won't be more expensive than tuition.

I am from the state of Florida, and I really wanted to attend the University of South California or University of California -- Los Angles. These are very good universities in southern California insomuch you have to have top grades and great SAT/ACT scores.
