When should I start applying for college?

When should you start applying for college?

  • I am going to start taking AP classes my junior and senior year and I want to know when I should start applying. I want colleges to see my senior year but I do not want to apply to late.

  • Answer:

you can only apply in ur senior year, unless u wanna go to the college where u can join in ur junior year, but i dont recommend em to u. i recommend u to apply with early admission, and take 2 ap classes in ur junior year. if u do well on ur ap tests and they see ur taking more on ur senior year, itll be alright. good luck

Typically, college applications are due in early January of the year you want to begin in the Fall - so you start applying halfway through your senior year.

Most say in Junior year. But I didn't start until the summer before senior year. It also depends on how many colleges you want to apply to.

Today. Go to http://www.fastweb.com and fill out the free questionnaire. That begins their service to connect you with colleges and other scholarships for which you are eligible. There is much to be done by YOU and it has to start NOW. Sit down with yourself and decide EXACTLY what discipline you want to follow as a career. That's the most important thing for you TODAY. KNOW where you're going. Otherwise, you will never get there. Once you have that firmly planted in your mind, focus on it. Do not change it. Stay focus. Do, breath, live and work towards that goal. If you must be strong in Math, then by George let's get math tutoring if you're weak in that subject. If you must be good in chemistry, then likewise, get busy and get to be the best in chemistry. Get my drift? So many students wait until their Senior year and find out they have not prepared correctly and therefore find themselves having to work at McD or Wendy's to perhaps try to get enough money together to go to Junior College. Rubbish. When you see the students at graduation getting 10, 20 or 100 scholarships and tuition assistance funding it is because they started "years ago" preparing for what they want to be in life. You will hear many say "Gee, they are lucky" or "Yeah, their parents have connections, you know.". Rubbish. The student cared enough to focus on getting to their goal. Yes sometimes parents do help but 99% is their personal doing. You've already wasted 4 years doing nothing. So get up from your seat. Apply motivation to your life. Make your parents proud instead of disappointed. Talk to your counselors at school. Visit a counselor at the college you'd like to attend. Find out based on your school transcript what discipline you might do better at. Let the experts help you plan where you're going. Talk to people in the career field you want to be at. They are a good source of information about "what you need" to get there or "what subjects" you need to excel in to reach that goal.

well, typically most students apply in the beginning of their senior year and they are probably ready around january or before that time. Recommendation letters, college apps, SAT's ACT's scores should all be turned in before january. so ur best bet is to apply at the beginning of ur senior year. I know most colleges don't look at senior year...but that's on the college. So just make sure u finish most of ur credits during junior year and aim for that 2400!

Start applying when you're 3.

You should be taking SAT prep courses/college prep courses in your Junior year and applying to colleges/taking your SATs in the beginning of your Senior year. Good luck!

In the last semester of your senior year of High School. Keep your grade avg. high. I advise going to a Community College to satisfy the core requirements necessary at almost every University and College nationally, and then transfer into the best University you qualify for acceptance. You will save about $6,000.00 minimum, and will find the direction you want to specialize in.
