Does general membership still exist within Alpha Kappa Alpha?
-
I attend college on-line and of course they do not have "greek" life for on-line students. I have read on Alpha Kappa Alpha's website that if you are attending a four year university where there is no chapter you can be presented for general membership through a graduate chapter. The question is, does this still exist? When I have spoken to graduate chapter members they seem to have no knowledge of this....... If I could have AKA members respond it would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
People can still be brought in as general members, but it's very, very rare. Your college would need to meet the criteria for establishing a chapter and the graduate chapter would have to agree to bring you in. Start by contacting your nearest graduate chapter and go from there.
