Transferring from Queens College to Columbia University through the transfer Plan?

Transferring from Queens College to Columbia University through the transfer Plan. Is this a good idea? Please explain to me about this process and idea. I have a feeling going from QC to columbia is less acknowledged than going straight to Columbia and graduating from there.
