How long does the Harvard law school program last?

How do I get into harvard Law School?

  • Next year I will be going to High School. I really want to go to Harvard. I know that are many Law Schools that are good, but Harvard was the place I want to go. I'm not one of those people who's mom or dad are forcing them to go, its my dream to go. I don't want to go to Harvard not just to get money. I want to help people. I love helping people. I love music. I play the Viola/ Cello in Orchestra. I always get A's and B's but does more B's in your grades hold you back? I love playing tennis and helping people. I am great at computers, I mean really great, better than those who went to school for it. (Don't know if that helps) I try my best at everything. All my classes are advance. I know I need a GPA of 3.8 or higher and you must have a LSAT score of 175 or higher but what courses should I take? What should I do to prepare going to Harvard? Should I go to a Special High School to prepare for law? Does it increase the chance of going to Harvard? What should I practice? Help?

Hi gdf, Ooh, good for you! It's great that you have goals and are very focused on reaching it. You said that you will be attending high school, right? The LSAT is something you usually take in college, and law schools will look more at your college GPA. Do you want to go to Harvard law school, or do you want to go to Harvard for college? If you're aiming for Harvard for college, just keep up the good work, and get really involved at your campus, take challenging courses and try to maintain a high GPA, participate in community service and school clubs and such. If you want to go to Harvard law school, just keep up great work in college. Law school doesn't require a specific major, so going to a "special" type of high school won't help (I'm not quite sure if those actually exist). Right now, try to keep on doing very well in school and keep showing your participation and leadership skills, and just try to show potential colleges why they would want you at their school. Once you get into college, it's also good to speak with an academic advisor about law school so that you have an idea of good courses to take. There are also many pre-law societies in college that are very interesting and invite law school students, professors, current attorneys to come and speak to the group. Good luck! :)
