What should I do if I have not received my college admission letters?

I've received my college decision letters and now it's time to decide which college to attend, any advice?

  • I've been accepted to: UC Berkeley UC Irvine UC Santa Barbara UC David UC San Diego UC Los Angeles Cal Poly SLO San Fran State Univ of San Fran Pepperdine Univ of Redlands Univ of the Pacific Green Mountain College Sierra Nevada and waitlisted for UPenn I don't really want to attend a public college because there are sooooo many people there, but I'm not sure since I got into some great public colleges. I want to major in Biology and get involved in research. Any advice on how to make a decision with these colleges?

  • Answer:

I go to UCLA and to be honest, I feel lost. I'm also a Biology major and I am going into the pre-health career path. UCLA is a tough school no doubt, and UC Berkeley is tougher (my older sister goes there right now). From my personal experience, if you like a smaller setting with smaller classes, go for private schools, but if you're fine with larger campuses and a sea of unfamiliar faces, go for UCs. My friend goes to UoP and she says its tough there, but (she has lower stats than the avg. applicant there) so I really question the toughness factor in UoP. Anywho, I think you should also wait for UPenn, cuz my cousin goes there and he was going to major in Biology and Business Econ, but ended up only going into the BusEcon major. He's already becoming an Investment Banker as we speak :) Ultimately, do some more research on each school and find out which one is the best match in terms of environment and whatnot, because given the chance, I would DEFINITELY reconsider my college apps and high school jr/sr year and apply to places like UoP where I can get into a program and graduate faster into the prehealth career I want. I'm just saying, think about where you see yourself one year from now.

the cheapest place. your degree will be worth about the same regardless of where you go. No school can guarantee you some high paying job or admittance into graduate education. Start thinking street smart; you are on your own now.

Whichever you can afford.

Pros and Cons of each taking into consideration location, jobs, style of education (more theory or practical), reputations, opportunities, cost etc. Then decide.

Simple Advice

UCLA or UOP. I would wait for UPenn though. Nice work. Thats a lot of colleges to apply to!
