What are my chances at getting into Georgetown University?

  • Hi. :) I was just curious to see if anyone had any input on my chances of getting into Georgetown. It is my absolute dream school and would love any advice anyone has to offer. I go to a very small high school, but it is ranked in the top 200 of schools in California. Enrollment: Approximately 250 Students. Class Rank: Top 10% 4.0 GPA Freshman and Sophomore years (no honors or AP classes because my school doesn't offer those until junior year. I am taking the most challenging courses my school has to offer though) Junior Year: 2 AP classes, and 1 Honors Class. GPA of a 4.14 weighted SAT score: 1690 (I'm going to re-take it and also try to take the ACT) Senior Year (plans) AP Governement, AP Calc, AP English, AP Spanish, Honors Physics, ASB, Grammar School Tutor EC's Sophomore Class Secretary Junior Class President Senior Class Vice-President Interact Club Community Advisor (Junior Year) Interact Club President (Senior Year) California Scholastic Federation Club Secretary (Senior Year) Drama Club 4 Years Varsity Basketball (Captain Senior Year) Special Olympics Volunteer since 7th grade 6th-8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach for 2 years I organize weekend highway cleanups for my town, have planned a movie night, a spaghetti dinner, prom expo, and prom for my school. All in all I have earned around 300 community service hours so far. Thank you for your help!

Since you have already participated in extracurricular activities, it gives you additional points to gain admission into Georgetown University. I know a lot of students that thought they wanted to go to their dream school, but when they got in and went to that school, they were really disappointed.
