Is Brenau University a nice college to attend? What is it like being at an all-female college?
-
I'm currently in my first semester of community college, but though I like being close to home and my friends, I would like to have the best college experience possible. Brenau offers the degree I would like to major in, which is Theatre Arts, and it offers a unique collaboration with a professional theatre near campus. I was absolutely thrilled when I found this info! What is life on campus like? I know the college has a variety of clubs, a greek system, and a small student-teacher ratio. How are the professors? Does the campus have any athletic teams or socials?

Answer:
Hello, I am a Junior Theatre Arts Major at Brenau. I truly believe that Brenau is what you make it! Brenau has a club or honor society for just about anything. The Greek system is unique because of the small all, female community of Brenau this allows for the organizations to focus more on building leadership skills and serving the community. As for the theatre program, I suggest coming to one of our shows. James and the Giant Peach opens next weekend and Hairspray opens in November. The program gives many opportunities to become a well rounded artist. I have worked on the constructions crew, the wardrobe crew and Assistant Stage Managed. I have been on stage and even dabbled in Electrics. Last year I was challenged to take on the position of Run Crew Chief and I learned so much!!! I definitely encourage you to come visit the campus and the theatre department! Eleanor

Kristy, I am a senior at Brenau and have loved my experience here at the university! First off, I don't think many students even notice that there aren't any boys here! It's really not that big of a deal! Some people tend to think that since Brenau is an all-female college that is very boring, but it is quite the opposite!! Campus life is very exciting and there are organizations that put on campus wide events all throughout the semester. There are a lot of athletic teams such as softball, crew, soccer, tennis, basketball, swimming, cross-country and even competitive cheerleading! Every year there is a formal social hosted by the university called Cotillion and then May day happens in April and everyone dresses up in sun-dresses and wears big hats! The professors are great as well! I have gotten to know all of my professors on first name bases and every one of them has been willing to help me any time I needed help with a project. Most of the lectures are more like conversations. The professor do not talk at you, but rather want to have an interactive conversation with their students. I hope this information helps you! ~Loren
