Graduate Membership Alpha Kappa Alpha?

How to properly contact graduate chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated?

  • I recently tried contacting a graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated for dates on sponsored community service events? I hoping to meet members and get involved( where applicable) and support the organization. Unfortunately, no one contacted me back. Did I do something wrong or ? I wanted to join during undergrad but graduated before another line was formed.

  • Answer:

Graduate membership is by invitation only, and many chapters do not respond to solicitations. I would not recommend attempting to contact them again since you did not receive a response the first time. If the chapter has a website, visit it for a list of upcoming events that are open to the public. Members are everywhere. You may know one at work, at school, or in other social settings that you frequent. The best you can do is to continue to check for events, and be yourself. If you have any friends from undergrad who are members, they may also be able to give you information about programs.

I have the same question. Sorry this is not answer, but a comment. I too am looking for a graduate chapter (in Chicago) to link up with. Im still away at school until may graduation & summer. I am currently just visiting all the grad chapter websites, looking for upcoming events that I can be a part of so that I can network, be more active, and so forth, when I come home.
